A More Authentic, Connected Life Starts Here

Supporting children, teens, adults, and couples in building deeper connections with themselves and the people they love through compassionate therapy, in-person in San Francisco and online across California.

Life can feel like a constant balancing act as you try to manage responsibilities, relationships, and personal growth while quietly holding self-doubt, anxiety, or a feeling of disconnection. You may have done everything you are supposed to do, reading self-help books, practicing mindfulness, pushing through, yet something still feels off. Maybe you are questioning your path, comparing yourself to others, or feeling weighed down by expectations.

Therapy is a space to pause and reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck, gently challenge the beliefs that no longer serve you, and create space for a life that feels more grounded and fulfilling.

Meet April

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

I’m April, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in San Francisco offering compassionate therapy for children, teens, adults, and couples.

I came to this work because therapy helped me through grief, loss, and years of feeling disconnected from myself.

Now I support clients through anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the weight of perfectionism, creating a space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel understood.

My own experience as a first-generation American deeply shapes how I show up in this work. I specialize in supporting clients who navigate the complexity of cultural identity, the weight of generational expectations, and the impact of intergenerational trauma. This experience helps me hold deep respect for the uniqueness of your story.

With a long background in the tech industry, I recognize the pressure to hold everything together and the exhaustion that often follows.

My approach is warm, client-centered, and rooted in trauma-informed care.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next step, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and meaningful.

Here are the areas I most often support clients with:

  • You may be holding yourself to impossibly high standards or trying to keep up with a life that looks perfect on the outside but feels overwhelming on the inside. You might work in a high-pressure job or career where it feels like no matter how much you do, it’s never quite enough. Even when you achieve what you set out to do, that inner voice may still tell you you’re falling short. You’re not alone in this.

Therapy provides a space to slow down, understand the anxiety beneath the pressure, and begin to soften the inner critic that keeps you stuck in cycles of striving and self-doubt.

  • Grief can take many shapes and does not only come from the loss of a loved one. It can arise after a breakup, a disconnection from friends or family members, the loss of a life you once knew, a major move or transition, or moving through an illness or a loved one’s illness. Grief can feel heavy, confusing, and lonely even when you are not alone. In our work together, I offer a warm and steady space where you can move through your grief at your own pace. We will explore what you are carrying, make room for the emotions that feel overwhelming, and support your healing with compassion and care. You do not have to navigate this pain by yourself. I am here to help you find moments of grounding, connection, and ease as you move through this chapter of your life.

  • Being a first-generation American influences how I approach this work. I understand the complexity of identity, the experience of moving between cultures, the weight of generational expectations, and the impact of intergenerational trauma. These experiences have helped me develop a deep respect for cultural diversity, personal growth, and the uniqueness of each individual’s story.

  • Kids & Teens

If your child or teen is struggling with anxiety, low confidence, or a sense of not belonging, therapy can offer a safe and supportive space to explore what’s going on. I help kids and teens express themselves more freely, understand their emotions, and build the skills to feel more confident in who they are. I work closely with parents to support growth, understanding, and connection at home.

  • Relationships can feel complicated, especially when communication breaks down or you start to feel disconnected from the person you love. Couples often come to therapy feeling stuck in the same arguments, unsure how to reach each other, or carrying pain that has been hard to talk about. In our sessions, I offer a calm and supportive space where both partners can feel heard and understood. Together, we will slow down the patterns that get in the way, explore the emotions underneath, and begin rebuilding trust, closeness, and connection. Whether you are navigating conflict, distance, life transitions, or a desire to feel more aligned with each other, I am here to support you in creating a relationship that feels more grounded, compassionate, and connected.

  • Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s wrong with you. It’s about helping you reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll make sense of what feels hard, nurture your inner strength, and support you in creating a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with who you are.

If you’re ready to begin or would like to see if we might be a good fit, I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation. You can schedule a time here or send me a message. I’d love to connect.
